Thanks for sharing a *honest* travel experience. There should be more of these!

On the bright side, few people can claim to have seen Venice with so few tourists around :)

This is true! It was really nice being with the Venetians without crowds of tourists. I’m so glad you liked it, I do love it when people share these kinds of stories :)

February in Venice can be a challenge! It’s not only that the weather might be bad, it is the time of year when everything is either closed (it’s only of the only time Venetian shops & restaurants take a break) or it’s Carnevale & then it’s crazy crowded. It sounds like you made the most of it.

Yes! We absolutely did 🥰🥰 despite the challenges. I’d love to go back again during a different time of the year!

I agree with you. I think that social Networks (especially instagram) make we believe in perfect places, but it is not reality. First time I went in Venice after a long time, as soon I arrived in Piazza San Marco, totally crowdy, a bird pooped on my head! In another trip in Spain we went in Tabernas' desert, the Europe's driest place, to see the setting of famous movies. in April. Guess what? it was rainy, we visited it with the mud. just to say that the important is the experience, and we will remember smiling :)

I couldn’t agree with you more! Social media does sell us a very different picture, and most of the time, it’s just not true 😂 I’m so sorry you experienced that!! At least in Italy a bird pooping on you is considered good luck 😉 Absolutely, the experience is still a good one despite the bad stuff! Keep smiling is a good idea 👍
